Northern Wood Terminals Ltd commenced operations as a bulk importer and distributer of timber in 1981 from its base at the port of Rowhedge in Essex, the company handled and distributed Swedish timber products throughout the UK.
In 1988 the company opened a second terminal operation at the Port of Ipswich in order to handle larger vessels and a second company called NWT Distribution Ltd was created.
In the early 2000s we changed our focus away from carcassing and to the importing and supply of agricultural fencing products coupled with a wide range of domestic and landscaping products to the market through NWT Distribution Ltd. We have a large and varied national and international customer base with the ability to source most enquiries through our extensive network of supplier relationships that have been built up over the past 25 years.
In 2020 we moved our terminal operations to Baltic Distribution Ltd near Rochford in Essex, The regular liner shipping services from the Baltic, direct to our terminal enables us to provide a fast and efficient delivery service to our customers direct from our quayside stock.
As a responsible purchaser we are both FSC and PEFC registered.
